solarthumbOUR SOLAR PANELS ARE WORKING GREAT!!!

Those solar photovoltaic panels mounted on the school wing roof, and seen from the SJA parking lot, ARE producing electrical energy as designed!  In the past year, several staff members and parishioners have inquired about the SJA solar system.  Are we making electricity?  Is it working as well as expected?  Are we saving much money?  What carbon footprint reduction have we realized?  Unfortunately, since connecting to the grid on February 1, 2007, SJA has not been carefully monitoring the solar system performance.

The SJA website has moved to a new format. We are now seeking parishioners who would like to write for the new website. Each ministry will be asked by their staff coordinator to identify a volunteer to update their section of the website. In addition, we are looking for parishioners who would like to write general interest articles such as event reviews and features for the new website. Anyone interested in being a general interest author should contact Jeff  Rholl, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Stories about people's experience with race and the Civil Right's movement along with the music that inspired these stories is what SJA's annual MLK 2010 concert will be about. Look for some familiar faces like T Mychael Rambo, now a fixture as the voice of Dr. King and one joyous musical motivator to work up a crowd, and the SJA Choir under the assured direction of Anna Vagle, co-producer of the SJA Concert Series. This season, as SJA honors 40 years of music in a gym, a look back at some of those memories including those of racial dynamics will be featured. Long time parishioners Cyril Paul and Alberta Johnson will share their memories along with Gospel sensation Robert Robinson and his family with SJA's affable host piano accompanist Dan Chouinard.
