 - A summer-time interactive workshop!

What faith questions do you have?  What spiritual issues are important to you?  What spiritual nourishment do you need?  The three-part workshop Let’s Talk Faith: Exploring Issues of Faith on Your Spiritual Journey will offer a safe place to ask questions and explore your faith with other searchers. Open to adults and teens, this workshop series is an opportunity to explore the Catholic tradition — spiritual, social justice, sacramental and moral — in a social and historical context.   Led by Tom Smith-Myott.   Come in out of the heat, meet other searching folks, and enjoy a free and open discussion.  Wednesdays, August 4, 11 & 18, 7:00-8:30 pm. in the Parish Center.  To register, please contact the Parish Center or use our online registration form.  FFI, contact Tom ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. On June 14, about forty people gathered to hear Cindi Claypatch from The Health Realization Training Center.  Cindi has been working in the mental health field since the 1970’s, including work in chemical dependency, dual diagnoses programs and other types of therapy.  Although she loved her work, she realized she was burning out, and jumped at the opportunity to learn about Health Realization.

A new workshop offered this summer!

bibleSt. Joan of Arc Adult Formation Director Tom Smith-Myott will be offering the short summer-time series “Bible for Beginners: A Basic Introduction” on three Wednesdays beginning July 14.  Open to all, Tom is especially encouraging folks who have had little or no contact with the bible to come experience the depth and richness of the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, especially the gospels.  Participants will get an introductory overview of the bible, then delve into the gospels as an example of using the bible as a spiritual resource.  Come in out of the heat, meet other searching folks, and enjoy a free and open discussion.  Wednesdays, July 14, 21 & 28, 7:00-8:30 pm in the Parish Center.  Tom asks for pre-registration so he has enough material for everyone.   FFI, contact Tom at the Parish Center.

On Sunday, May 16 in the crowded (and warm!) Upper Room of the SJA Parish Center, our SJA ISAIAH core team hosted a powerful conversation on Immigration Reform attended by almost 50 people. Joining us were Latino/a members of Assumption Parish in Richfield and parishioners of SJA who are deeply concerned about our country’s immigration policies and the importance of enacting humane, comprehensive federal immigration reform. This is the launch of what we hope is a fruitful relationship between these two parishes as we work together on immigration policy that will benefit us all.
