The Resource Center of the Americas Homepage

The Resource Center of the Americas sponsors communication and educational programs to increase awareness of issues in Latin America and to encourage local action here in the U.S. in solidarity with our Latin American brothers and sisters.

El Periódico

A little slow to load. This is a good paper for human rights issues, but you'll need to read Spanish. Check out the investigation articles every Monday.

The Prensa Libre

has an electronic version of its popular daily independent newspaper. It is great for people who read Spanish and want the latest from Guatemala. Non Spanish speakers will enjoy the pictures. Large and loads a little slow.

NISGUA's Homepage

has a website from their office in Washington D.C. NISGUA(Network in Solidarity with Guatemala) focuses mostly on humans rights issues and has links to other types of information. The weekly Guatemalan Human Rights Commission report is posted on this site. Heavy on links to other sources, moderate amount of original material.

Latin American Network Information Center (LANIC)

This site has a wealth of information on all parts of Latin America. It's a great place for students to do research for school papers and for anyone to just gather information for awareness. To focus on Guatemala follow the country link.

Peace Brigade International: Guatemala

Peace Brigade International is an organization for non-violence with presence in 7 different countries. Much of it's focus is as a watchdog organization. Highlights of this site include the Reports section and a comprehensive list of various organizations working in Guatemala.
