Juan Pablo Fr. Jean Paul Kasengu (Padre Juan Pablo) I was born on 7 December 1969 in Kasai-Oriental in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. One year later, we went with my father to the southeastern province of Lubumbashi. It was there that I studied in both primary and secondary school and later graduated as a teacher. I taught one year in secondary school and then in 1992, I entered the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In 2001 I graduated in philosophy and theology in Cameroon. I was sent to Guatemala as a missionary in 2002 and on 30 August 2003 I was ordained a deacon in Cobán (Guatemala). On 14 February 2004 I was ordained a priest in Kasai (Democratic Republic of the Congo). I come from a family of nine brothers and sisters (five boys and four girls). In October of 2003 I was sent to San Marcos Evangelista in order to get to know the parish. After I was ordained, I was named to be the priest and I have been there since that time.
