On October 27th, 8 members of our sister parish in Tierra Nueva Dos, Guatemala will arrive in the Twin Cities. This will be our second delegation from TNII. The delegates consist of 4 youth and 4 adults. They will be with us until November 5th. Let us introduce the delegates:

My address in Tierra Nueva II is Sector B-2, Block H, Lot 7. I am the coordinator of the Youth Group Board. I really like to listening to music and reading. My favorite food is Chinese food. I am excited to visit you because it is an opportunity to get to know new people and things, to become familiar with your culture and to have more friends. | |

My name is Aura Marina Gonzalez. I am 42 years old. My husband is Pual Quiroz. We have three children: Viviana, Walter and Gabriela. I participate in the Catholic community of Tierra Nueva II. I work with the Catechist Team and also with the Women's Ministry Program. I am currently the Vice President of the Sister Parish Committee and I will have the pleasure of participating for the second time in a delegation from our community to St. Joan of Arc. As a result, I will have the opportunity of sharing once again with my dear brothers and sisters with whom I shared during my first visit. I hope to have the pleasure of getting to know other members of the community as well. | |
| Hi. You can call me Efrain. I warmly greet you. I was born in Guatemala City on June 19, 1952. I live with wife, Maria Estela and my children: Juan, Norma and Romelia. Currently I work for a shoe company. During the week I participate in a group reflection meeting and on Sundays I take part in the Sister Parish Committee meetings, of which I am the treasurer. I really like music and I play the guitar a bit. For several years I have been playing for Sunday mass along with the other members of our choir. I am studying English and I hope that soon we will be able to understand each other better. I am excited about the visit we are planning to make to our sister parish in Minnesota. It is a pleasure to greet you. My name is Mario Amilcar Aguare. I am 40 years old and I was born in the city of Santa Cruz del Quiche on June 7, 1960. I live with my wife Marcelina Lux and my three kids: Mima, Jorge and Mario. I participate in the Charismatic Catholic Renewal Group. I am the coodinator of the group and I also participate in the musical ministry or choir. I am also a member of the Sister Parish Committee. | Hi. My name is Marlen Liliana Felipe Ixpata. Here's some of my personal information: I am 17 years old, I am single, I like to play volleyball and I like all types of food. I study communications at the University of San Carlos. I'm in my first semester and I'm one of the youngest in my class. They call me China which really bugs me. I work for the Guatemalan Liquor Industry. There my friends call me Chiqui. I work as a secretary in the purchasing department. I like to share with my many work friends the sad and the happy things of life. I am a member of the Youth Group in the community and my position is secretary. I really like to advise people when I can and it makes me feel good. I have a dynamic personality and I sometimes like to joke around in order to make people laugh. I have five siblings. My family thinks I am really talkative, and I am. I like to communicate with people to get to know them better and tell them things about my life. My name is Miriam Elizabeth Vasquez Bautista de Batres. I am 32 years old. I was born in Guatemala City on February 6, 1968. My family includes my husband Bernardo and my daughter Maria Fernanda, 6 years old. I work as a nurse government health clinic in Tierra Nueva II, which is right next to the church, so I can walk to work. I like my job because I am able to help people prevent and cure their sicknesses. I work all morning and part of the afternoon. The rest of the time I take care of Fernanda, supervise her school work and do other things around the house. I try to participate actively in the Sister Parish Committee. I am a member of the Board and I have the role of secretary. I am also on the Parish Council. I actively participate in the Women's Ministry Program with women from TN II as well as TN I in a women's training and development program. I love to get to know people and to participate in religious and social groups because I learn to get involved and improve my relationships. I like to ride bikes, to chat, to laugh, to visit nature. I like all kinds of music, especially marimba and romantic music. I also like to sing, even though I'm a bit tone deaf. I hope we see each other soon. | |

My name is Tobias Lopez Fajardo. I am 21 years old. I was born May 23, 1979. I have 9 siblings and I am the oldest. There are 6 boys and 4 sisters (Elias, Asarias, Rodriguito, Sacarias, Ananias, Veronica, Veridiana, Vorina, Vivalda). My parents are Rodrigo Lopez and Blanca Lidia Fajardo. I work as an operator at a clothes factory called Confecciones Caribe. My girlfriend's name is Leticia C. We have been going out for nine months and it fascinates me to go out with her. As for food, I really like cole slaw. My favorite hobbies are watching TV and listening to music. I am the treasurer of the Youth Group. In traveling with the delegation, I hope to make more friends, and have new experiences to share with the rest of our group. I also hope to get to know the beautiful places in Minnesota. | |
