Meeting held at St. Joan of arc, December 7, 2005

Brief minutes from the St. Joan of Arc Sister Parish TNII Committee meeting.

Those attending: Mindy, Leslie, Michael , Rick, Bob, Susan, Louise

Convened at 7:20 by Mindy who presented the budget from 2004-2005 and held the projected budget of 2005-2006 on the reverse side of the paper. Extensive discussion ensued and included a line by line evaluation of past and future incomes and expenses.

It was noted that candle sales this year showed an income of $4,262.00 with $1000.00 of that coming from an especially generous individual who has made it an annual gift in arecent years.

Mindy explained that Tim will be contacting the office to have them included the receiptsfrom the candle sales in the next Sunday Bulletin. It will also include a short note how the money generated is to be used to bring the southern delegates here and not the other way around.

A motion to send $500.00 to Sister Parish Inc was made and approved. The amount is intended to help in the purchase of a laser printer.

A second motion was made and approved to send the remainder of the $1,370..00 collected after the $650.00 already sent to the Efrain Juarez family to the TNII Committee with first priority suggested as covering any additional needs of that bereaved family.

Leslie agreed to call the new list of those interested in serving on the Sister Parish Committee but explained that the calls would have to be delayed until after the new year.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.

Respectfully submitted, Bob Heberle

Below is the letter signed at the meeting and later faxed to the Bishop in Wisconsin who has agreed to be on the WHISC board of directors:

December 7, 2005

Dear Bishop Morlino:

Fax: 608-821-3139

As activists for a number of years in trying to educate our Catholic sisters and brothers in the United States about the horrors perpetrated on the Central Americans by our government, we would hope you would resign from the WHISC board to express your disapproval of that school's mission.

Our church, St. Joan of Arc, has had a Sister Parish relationship with a Catholic church in Guatemala for over ten years and have worked diligently with our community here in solidarity with our Guatemalan Sister Parish to close the WHISC/SOA. Our Guatemalan sisters and brothers have been unceasing in their expressions of appreciation for our efforts to close that school.

Please do not reflect support for that institution by remaining on its board but resign and thus speak for the voiceless.

As a spiritual leader, I would appreciate that you continue to do as Christ's message to us on the Sermon on the Mount instructs: "Blessed are the peacemakers."

In Christ.
