Joel led us in the thank you note effort. We completed and packaged thank you notes for all the organizations that met with the delegation, host families, interpreters, etc. A note and sister parish cards were sent to all of them. In addition, we approved a $50 donation to each of the following organizations:
We did a brief evaluation on the delegation and discussed the idea of having a retreat to further reflect (as mentioned above). A summary of the evaluation will come in a separate message.
We also discussed having a book discussion on Through a Glass Darkly by Thomas Melville (I hope I got that right) a new book on Guatemala. This could be inclusive of a discernment process for the many people who are considering traveling to Guatemala in the next delegation. We need someone who would be willing to lead the book discussion. Any volunteers?
