Leslie passed around a list for the committee to select pen pals they would like to communicate with. The list will also be sent to the email distribution list. Leslie will check with Julie on a location to drop letters off in the parish center when they are ready to be mailed.
Next meeting of the International Ministries is June 26th.
On Sunday, Oct 7th (World Communion Day), there will be focus on international ministries at SJA with the theme "Transforming the Power of Receiving".
Doris Rosenthal at Resource Center of the Americas (RCTA) contacted Mindy about some collaboration with SJA. We agreed that would be a great idea. Almost everyone at the meeting asked to be included in any brainstorming meeting that takes place. We agreed to send RCTA $100 for an SJA membership from the SP budget. Ross will contact Doris and see what's next.
Faith Lutheran contacted us about doing a common orientation for host families. We may not need to do an orientation depending on who the families are. Fargo's delegation is the week of July 2 through 7 so it is probably too early to fit in our planning. Mindy sent them our orientation materials. Ross will follow up with them.
We discussed the delegation schedule with respect to the small size of the delegation and agreed that we need to get some input from Alba, Juan Carlos and Alejandro as to what they want to see and what they don't want to do again. Ross will email Alejandro.
