It's at 8:30-3:00 at Our Lady of Grace, Edina. We have three registrations, Mindy is going and maybe Dorothy. One more person can go.
Very positive feedback. Good for meeting new people, but could have used more time to interact. Maybe have delegates wear special name tags next time. Shorten the slide show and include some history and geography.
We skipped this one since we didn't have the minutes.
The sale will be on November 21st. There will be a second meeting on November 17th to price the candles and prepare for the sale. Mindy will ask Tim and Mary Beth if they will organize the sale as before. Ann will update the bulletin board to advertise and ask for volunteers.
The highest response was to the Fabric Design and the Child. Joel will coordinate production of the cards. Brianna will ask the family for permission to use the picture. Joel will write something for the back of the Fabric card and Brianna will write something for the back of the Child card.
We were asked by LAGOS to host a speaker between October 28 and November 1. Carlos Humberto Muralles will talk on Free Trade Agreements. We agreed to host a talk on Sunday, October 30 from 1 to 3 in the Upper Room or wherever we could find a place. Mindy to do bulletin announcement and reserve room. Jenny to do poster for entry area.
The classes are on hold until after the first of the year.
How can we make Sister Parish more visible in the parish? Idea: Get the folks who have gone to Haiti, South Africa, Iraq and Guatemala together to share ideas on how to educate the parish. Maybe a large fundraiser. Perhaps start some sub-committees like political analysis, economic analysis, cultural awareness, etc. to produce materials that can be distributed. Come with ideas to the next meeting. We will talk more about it then.
We have a new volunteer, Michael Hayes. Ross will contact him and see where that goes. The next steps are to get the meeting minutes in English and Spanish on the website, update the committee page and include a calendar of events.
We would like to present the stole from TN2 for George on the Sunday of the candle/card sale. Joel will coordinate with Julie to see if that can happen.

Hemos recibido comentarios muy positivos. Dijeron que fue beneficosa para los nuevos miembros del comité, pero les habrían preferido más tiempo para conocerse. Los delegados debieron identificarse. La presentación de las transparencias debió ser más corta; debieron incluir más historia y geografía de Guatemala.
No tuvimos las actas. Las vamos a leer en otra ocasión.
Será el 21 de noviembre. Habrá una junta el 17 de noviembre para hacer los preparativos. Mindy les pedirá a Tim y Mary Beth que nos ayuden con la organización del evento. Ann actualizará la publicidad en la iglesia y buscará a voluntarios.
Votamos en la Fiesta y elijimos "La Tela" y "La Niña". Joel
se encargará de la producción de las tarjetas. Briana pedirá permiso de usar la foto de la niña. Joel escribirá un comentario en la tarjeta "la Tela" y Briana escribirá algo en la tarjeta "La Niña".
Santa Juana de Arco será la sede de una charla de Carlos Humberto Muralles sobre los Acuerdos del Tratado Libre (Free Trade Agreements) patronizada por LAGOS (Grupo de Solidaridad con Guatemala). Acordamos celebrarse el 30 de octubre de la 1 a las 3 de la tarde. Mindy va a reservar una sala y pondrá en anuncio en el boletín. Jenny va a hacer un póster.
No hay planes para clases de español por ahora.
¿Cómo podemos tener más resonancia en la parroquia? Una idea es juntarnos con las personas que tienen grupos de la solidaridad con Haití, Sud África e Irak. Podríamos compartir ideas sobre estrategias para educar a la parroquia. Tal vez podríamos recaudar fondos juntos. Tal vez debemos tener comités de análisis política, la economía, la cultura, etc. Tal vez podríamos distribuir materiales didácticos. Todos han de pensar en eso para la próxima reunión.
Tenemos un nuevo voluntario, Michael Hayes. Ross lo contactará. Por el momento queremos poner las actas en inglés y español en el sitio web, actualizar la pagina inicial e incluir un calendario de eventos.
Se la presentará el 21 de noviembre, el día de la venta de velas y tarjetas. Joel hablará con Julie (justicia social) al respecto.
