We talked about what the expectations are and then realized that we have hosted the Sister Parish Board of Director's meeting several times recently. We decided that we didn't want to just do it without encouraging other churches that haven't done it as much to try it out. Louise will check with Incarnation to encourage them to do it in November.
The orientation guide suggests involving the parish in the delegation by writing letters that the delegates can read to connect them to their parish while they are in Guatemala and by establishing prayer partners for the delegates. After some discussion, Ross will draft a bulletin announcement to encourage people to write letters that the delegates can open while they are in Guatemala and to ask people to indicate that they will pray for the delegation. We recalled that we want a banner to bring to TN2 signed by people from the SJA parish. We will have this for people to sign when the blessing takes place (June 8th or 15th).
We read and discussed the TN2 Women's group project. It was approved without changes.
We discussed itinerary ideas and other things. We noted that we need a banner for parish signatures and we need to schedule a conference call during one of the orientation meetings.
There was a statement on immigration policy that came out of SP for consideration by involved parishes. Louise will send it to Ross and he will forward it to active members for approval.
The next meeting will be held on June 4th at the usual time and place.
