Pen Pals

Leslie is the coordinator of the Pen Pals communication. She will send some information to the SJA address list. Ross will send out the next communication with the list visible so she can get it. We all agreed that an orientation is needed for people from the parish that wish to be pen pals with TN2. We need to preserve the solidarity focus of the relationship. To facilitate sending letters we can use the SP envelope in the parish center. Letters can be picked up there on a regular basis.

News from the SP Board

Jan is stepping down and Louise, as VP, will pick up the interim role of President of the SP Board of Directors.

Northern Assembly Meeting

I didn't have anything in my notes for this agenda item, so we may not have talked about it. Does anybody remember?

Walk for Justice

Louise asked for voluteers to help with the Walk for Justice who would be willing to take over responsibility for it in the future.

Jeff & Rita - DVD

Jeff and Rita presented the completed DVD and a set of delegation photos to the SP Committee. GREAT JOB!!! We will keep 4 copies of the DVD in the library and the rest in the SP storage area. We disussed how to present the video to the parish and community. Suggestions included a parish event in June and presenting a one of the coffee hours as the Resource Center of the Americas.

Delegation Planning

We may need congressional help (letters) to get visas. Julie will check on possible contacts in the parish.

Ross will send an email to Alejandro asking if there is anything special the delegation would like to see or do. What would they like to focus on during the visit?

• Clarence & Avis can coordinate a Native American ministries visit with the native american ministries office at the diocese.
• Jenny volunteered to coordinate homestays. Pat & Claire, Mindy and Jeff&Rita volunteered to be considered for being hosts. Therese Kaiser may also be able to host the first half of the delegation.
• Leslie voluteered to be the Schedule Coordinator with the help of Judy and Mindy.
• We need to have a bulletin announcement about homestays when we get a little closer to the delegation.

Our next meeting will be on May 16th and will focus on delegation planning.

Ross will send out a list of volunteer roles for people to consider.
