Attendance:

Mindy, Louise, Tim

Agenda:

News & letters from TN2

Mindy met with Don Hall who just returned from a trip to Guatemala which included a day visit to TN2. He was very touched by the welcome they gave him and the plans they had made for his visit. He was taken to the clinic and school in Tierra Nueva 1 and had lunch with Padre Juan Pablo, Bernardo, and some of the women's group. Don brings greetings from all in TN2 and also brought back some letters and a poster with greetings for people here.

Tim called and talked to Miriam yesterday. This is part of a new routine of monthly calls to check in and improve our communication. There have been some problems with the relationship between TN1 and West Fargo, much of which stems from some miscommunication. She and Bernardo have been involved in trying to resolve the issues. This resolved any of our concerns that the problems might impact our relationship with TN2.

Letter from Eluvia on behalf of the scholarship group: They thank us for the money sent in January They have made a change so that their directing board is made up of only 1 adult and the rest youth. Also, Padre Juan Pablo is informed of their activities and they continue to have discussions with him.

Delegation Update

Two delegates have decided to drop out of the delegation. Mindy has already approached Julie Madden about joining the delegation. It is likely either she and/or Peter Eichten will join the delegation. Mindy may also contact others who have previously expressed interest in the delegation.

Review of delegation scholarship applications

Two delegates applied for scholarships. The committee voted to grant $825 to each requestor. This leaves $850 in scholarship money that can be used to support a staff member from SJA on the delegation.

Party/meeting with Fr. Jim D

At the suggestion of Julie and Joel, we thought having a dinner would be the best way to introduce our new pastor to our Sister Parish relationship and what it means to those who have been involved. Since there were only three of us at the meeting, we did not do much planning. This will be a topic for our April meeting. We were thinking a pot luck at the end of April on a Sunday night. We can invite everyone who's been involved with our Sister Parish and encourage people to share stories and what it had meant for them. Slides/pictures will also be a great thing to include.

Alfombra

Tim will work on a design. We scheduled a meeting for Wed, April 12 to cut out the templates.

Events - Romero commemoration

...Sorry, I didn't get this out in time. The events were last weekend.

Immigrant Issues

Louise attended the march for immigrant rights last weekend. She brought a flyer outlining the problems with the proposed federal immigration legislation. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES!

NEXT MEETING IS APRIL 5, Parish Center, 7:00p.m.
