Bob's Report

Bob Heberle has been asked by Cathy Taylor at the Archdiocese to write an article for SEED, a ___________ publication with a circulation of about 200 to ________ area churches.

There were four handouts:

  1. Budget and actual expenditures for 2004 - 2005
  2. School of the Americas Report Back and Panel Discussion Tuesday, January 11, at 7:00 pm at the Communications Workers of America Union Hall, 3521 East Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55406 (612) 722-7200
  3. The Negative Effects of NAFTA. For more information www.witnessforpeace.org
  4. 10 Reasons You Should Oppose CAFTA by Mike Haasl for information (haaslm@archspm.org) "We need to be the voice of those who have no voice" Archbishop Oscar Romero

Women's Group

Mindy read from the Women's report and will attach the document to these minutes.

There are 18 women from TN1 and 12 from TN2 and the question discussed was whether or not to split the $1,700US budget. It was agreed to send $1,700 to TN2 after the question was cleared up after Joel Papa talks to Vicki Schmidt in Fargo next Monday. Danette offered to donate a sewing machine and the next delegation may take it back with them.

Book Cart

Rick had checked Julie Madden and then with Bob _____________ who is responsible for the book cart and found that we could continue to sell candles and cards from it after each Mass on Sundays. This was considered a major effort because the committee is short over $6,000 for the next delegation.  A schedule was immediately set up to attend the cart. Rick was going to send the members a list of what to do and when. A question which was not discussed was how much cash change a person should have in their pocket to facilitate the sales.

January 9, Rick

January 16, Michael Brannigan

January 23, Katharine

January 30, Leslie

February 2, next meeting and another schedule will be set

This information will be submitted to the bulletin to make parishioners aware that these items will be available on a continuing basis. Danette agreed to write the blurb for the Sunday bulletin.

2005 Priorities/Budget

A Special Meeting was scheduled to discuss 2005 priorities and Mindy will send Fr. George a list of meeting dates and the Wish List and invite him for pizza at 6:00pm on January 19th.

Budget was reviewed with minor discussion on how to raise $6000 still needed for delegation.  Mindy will schedule a time to discuss with George our needs and ideas.

Retreat

The retreat dates for the SP committee were set at Feb12, or 19, or the 26th. Mindy will send out a question to everyone on the SP contact list asking for their preferred date. The date that most can make it will then be announced.

Presentation to George

Louise will contact Julie Madden to find out what date the 2004 Delegation to TN2 can present Fr. George with the hand made stole and the picture that were sent back with us. The picture would replace one of the wall hangings as there isn't any more space for Sister Parish on the Center walls.

Danette will explore a story for the Arc Angle.

Delegation

The Delegation dates for our TN2 brothers and sisters is suggested for after June 15th but before August, 2005

Submittedby Joel Papa.
