Sister Parish Committee meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7 pm. in the school. Newcomers are always welcome. If you have questions, please contact any of the members of the committee.

What follows are the minutes of the Wednesday, March 1, 2000 meeting.

Wednesday, March 1, 2000

Present: Louise, Mindy, Jeff, Margaret, Joel, Tim, and Rick

In an uneventful meeting, a highlight was the groups’ ability to polish off a ½ box of Hot Tamales. Things were a little slow.

One piece of news finds Tim, Mary Beth, and Sienna heading to Guatemala for a few days during the 1st week of April. They will spend a day or two in TNII in addition to going to the lake and Antigua. We brainstormed a list of topic to discuss with TNII while they were there. They include:

• Setting a date for the fall delegation here
• Discussing how to finance the delegation
• Encouraging them to spend there project money
• Picking up their alfombra ideas
• Checking to see if they have developed an accounting system for finances.

Rick reported that design of the alfombra will be delayed until Tim and Mary Beth return with TNII’s ideas.

Margaret showed us the Spanish/English New Testaments she will bring on her visit. She will arrive in Guatemala on the day after Easter.

Joel will check into Camp Friendship for a retreat possibility on the weekend of May 20th and 21st.

The Lenten Discussion Group on the REMHI project will start in a week or so on Wednesday, March 15th. It will be lead by Louise and Rick. If you are interested contact Louise at 651.645.6821 or email at eidsmoel@aol.com.

Any meetings will be conducted during the Soup Suppers before the Lenten Discussions. If there is news out of those Supper meetings, Louise will let Jeff know and he will broadcast it to you all. The next regular meeting will not be until May 3rd.
