The first full day for the delegates got off to a great start. At ten o'clock the delegates, committee, and several host family members came together to prepare candles and cards to be sold at mass on Sunday. The candles were hand-made in Guatemala, and proceeds will be used for airfare for future delegations. There were many smiles and hugs as new friendships were formed and old ones were renewed. Rosa and Tobias also had to sneak downtown(right) to see the big buildings!

After candle prep, the delegates went to the homes of their host families and enjoyed lunch with them. At three o'clock they returned to SJA for the wedding of Aimee Leach and Terry Rumpza. Aimee was part of a youth delegation that went to Guatemala several years ago. The wedding was beautiful, and the reception was very interesting and fun - it was a costume party! The delegates enjoyed choosing costumes and seeing the unique costumes that others were wearing. All in all, it was a very busy and successful day!
