Meeting Minutes 1/14/99

Sister Parish Committee meetings are held the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7 pm. in the Parish Center. Newcomers are always welcome. If you have questions, please contact any of the members of the committee.

What follows are the minutes of the Thursday, January 14, 1999 meeting.

Special Fertility Subcommittee Report: Tim and Mary Beth announce the newest addition, coming this June 24th. Yes, a baby Leone-Getten. Cool! Congratulations!!

Tim shared the Holiday greeting from Paul and Bernardo, now translated at http://www.pconline.com/~sja/tnii.html and a letter from Padre Antonio that I missed because of infant problems. Warning Tim and Mary Beth! If they send me a summary of it, I will pass it along to all. Tim and Mary Beth will send a newsy letter along to TNII re our Holiday experiences.

Still no word on Bible Study at TNII. Carol and her crew continue their study and are sending messages down. There may be some growing pains in this process as this is our 1st attempt at collaborative study.

Chris reported on the delegation thus far. She has 5 people who are fairly certain to certain that they are going, a few others who are maybes, and many who attended the informational meetings that she has not heard from. The "let's get serious" meeting is this Thursday(21st) at 7 in the Parish Center. Anyone is welcome to attend. Chris will contact Vickie Schmidt regarding cost, orientation materials, etc. prior to Thursday's meeting.

We settled on a retreat date of Mar. 5th-7th. This retreat is open to anyone and will be held at Tim parent's cabin near Brainerd. Please let Tim and Mary Beth know if you will be attending. You may do that by calling 281-0520(old number I assume will transfer), by email (leone-getten@wavefront.com), or by attending the next meeting. Topics could be the role of $money$ in our hermanamiento and/or cross-cultural exchange ideas. Louise reported that she has updated our budget and that we are doing fine, but she left the report at home so I have no details.

Louise will contact Marge Bonnert regarding whether the youth is still interested in a youth delegation. Marge mentioned this before Christmas but we have not heard from her since. We received one more penpal request from a parishioner that Tim and Mary Beth will pass on to TNII.
