  1. OPENING:
Meeting convened at 5:05pm. Prayer by Ray.
  2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
May 1, 2008 Meeting Minutes were approved by PC members via email review.
  3. OLD BUSINESS:
    • Vision Team – The Executive Committee generated a list of parishioners and Jean is in the process of contacting them. All staff members will be invited to participate and several will be permanent ongoing members of the committee. First meeting August 7.
    • Council Membership – After substantial discussion, the PC agreed to create a working group to address issues related to committee structure and membership including: Description, Mission, Goals, Leadership, Member Recruiting/Selection/Terms and Reporting guidelines. Pete to survey other parishes for existing guidelines.
  4. NEW BUSINESS:
    • Council Membership – Via the Discernment process, Elaine Hauff and Ed Luterbach have agreed to serve on the Council for three year terms, beginning at the next meeting. They are replacing Ray (completed his second term) and Jerry (who has resigned).
    • Discernment/Commissioning – Christopher summarized the Discernment process results. The PC congratulated him for documenting and shepherding a very successful process. Commissioning of new PC members - June 8 at both 9:00 and 11:00 masses.
    • 2008/2009 Parish Council goals – After substantial discussion, Parish goals for 2008-2009 were established and are available in a separate document.
    • SJA-Iraq Partnership – A potential partnership has been formally proposed. After some discussion, the PC decided to forward the proposal to the International Ministries Committee for their review and recommendation.
    • Gym Air Conditioning – After some technical analysis by a volunteer contractor, it was determined the existing heating, air ductwork has only one-half the needed capacity for effective gym cooling. Redoing the ductwork appears prohibitively expensive. Alternative air movement and cooling solutions are being studied.
    • Church Elevator – Recently this problematic elevator has been intolerably unusable. The consensus was a reliable elevator is necessary. Cost estimates to replace the elevator are being generated by several contractors.
  5. CLOSING:
Jim Cassidy was saluted by individual PC members, honoring his 30 years of service as a priest. CONGRATULATIONS, Jim!!! Meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
