Members Present: Bill Buenz, Jim Cassidy, Jean Chagnon, Jim DeBruycker, Pete Eichten, Jerry Hartlaub, Christopher Hermann, Norine Larson, Mike McClosky, Pat Murphy, Ray Spack, Vicki Underland-Rosow, Ellen Velasco-Thompson

1. Opening Prayer:
   Meeting convened at 5:05pm. Prayer by Vicki. All read Mission Statement. "Check-in" by all.
2. Approval of Minutes: June Meeting Minutes were approved by PC members via email review in late June.
3. Organization:
   1. The Election of Vice Chairs resulted in Ellen and Jerry being selected.
   2. The Pastoral Council Liaison appointment process required substantial discussion. This important communication tool resulted in these appointments.

4. Old Business:
   1. Jean reported an August 23 meeting to review the PC discernment process and committee membership. Two recommendations were accepted: 1) Jean and Christopher to convene a small group to make specific recommendations regarding criteria for PC candidacy and member removal, and 2) Gather additional information from parish committees regarding recruitment, selection of members and chair, and turn-over.
   2. The Communications Director position received substantial discussion regarding purpose, timing and funding. Decided we needed more information. Actions: Jean and Jim D to arrange a professional communications person to attend our next meeting to help us understand the benefits of such a position. Noreen/Jim D/Mike to contact specific congregations to learn of their communications methods and issues, and report at our next meeting.
5. New Business:
   1. Pastor’s Report - Jim D: Excited about future and major initiatives at SJA. Plans to express/promote his vision more in the future. Jim C: While things going well, sees a need for improvements in communications and facilities.
   2. Liaison Reports - limited reporting as meeting time was exhausted. Vicki (Mobile Loaves and Fishes) - This new ministry (food served to homeless from a special truck) is near operational due to excellent support of non-SJA organizations.
   3. Fundraising Policy - delayed to next meeting.
6. CLOSING- Prayer led by Vicki. Meeting adjourned at 7:10pm.
