Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers

St. Joan of Arc member Ann Lewis(right) has been involved with the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers for eight years. The mission of the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers is to strengthen the effectiveness of the peace and justice community in Minnesota by enabling member organizations to share their resources, insights and ideas and devise cooperative strategies to accomplish common goals.

St. Joan of Arc recently awarded a $1,000 grant to the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers for general operating support. The organization is an alliance of 70 peace and justice organizations, all under one umbrella.

Ann has served as the vice president of the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers for the past two years and she now serves as the delegate from St. Joan of Arc Church.

As an extension of her involvement with the Alliance, Ann is also working on Peace Island, a conference to be held during the Republican National Convention. This solutions-based conference will address social justice issues. Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of roles including registration, tickets, publicity and on-site logistics. If you would like to help, please contact Ann Lewis at 952-944-96004 or annlewis694@cs.org.
