Donna Campbell

... a beacon of light
for women's pursuits

Recently I had the good fortune to meet Donna Campbell, a certified career and life coach and St. Joans parishioner. Donna's business, Beacon Point Coaching, has two focuses; career/life coaching and coaching women interested in leading or playing a key role in political and social change. She currently works with individuals considering a career change, women in political office or those considering office (whether its a school board position, city council or legislative position), and change agents in non-profit, community or government settings.

For the past seven years, Donna has been engaged in her own business, although for the last twenty years she has coached people through personal and career transition. Its only been in the last two years that Donna has consciously lined her business up with her own values and passion; "My goal is to help women have a broader impact on things they care about. I help women link their faith, what their passionate about, whats important to them (their values), their beliefs and their purpose with key goals and get them into action around those goals." This process might mean a career change or shift, starting a business, developing leadership skills, political office or community activism.

She finds great satisfaction in working with values driven women, women interested in giving back and making a difference. As a coach Donna helps her clients identify what drives them--"I do deep values work with individuals so that they have a strong foundation in which to make decisions and understand clearly what’s most important to them. "This clarity is the most important decision making tool a person can have”, says Donna. Helping a client tune into their passion and trust their inner wisdom is over-riding goal.

Donna is particularly known for her work in helping people reframe negative beliefs. As Donna explains, "even if you know your strengths and values you may not be able to move forward because beliefs drive behavior and behaviors without the right beliefs behind them eventually cannot be sustained. Many people consistently keep bumping up against a wall of negative beliefs and until those beliefs are consciously looked at and reframed are unable to move forward. This work can be transformational."

Her philosophy is that her clients are the experts on themselves; they are resourceful and whole and have everything they need to be successful. "What happens is that we sometimes lose touch with or don't trust what we know to be true about ourselves. I help people reconnect with their wholeness and inner truth."
