"Embracing Your Life Work"
(August 2, 9, 16 & 23 Workshop, A Summary)

From a simply constructed Who-What-Where-How model presented on the first day of this four session workshop, Leonard Lang assisted the active participants in plowing new ground towards new visions and goals; presenting a number of effective techniques and tools to realize them.

Helping persons clarify Who they are by identifying crucial values, stating unspoken passions and listing personal competencies enabled our proceeding to What 'in general' we could do to fulfill identified dreams; to look at more specific ways for better enjoying our talents in the Where of the process model; then moving towards detailed action plans as we focused more on How we would proceed to accomplish our new visions.

Embracing life work changes in the lives of those who attended was clearly a very personal process, which became a more open process as we learned to share our secrets with others; many with very similar concerns even as the end result reflected very unique backgrounds, abilities, goals.

In this respect, one of the most powerful lessons of this workshop is in seeing how valuable we can be to each other in everything from seeing who we are to what we can successfully do: to better serve; to better enjoy who we are.

If the leader was highly motivating, the participants were equal to the task of participating: openly involving themselves in the process of change, but also challenging certain activity until its worth was demonstrated. The unusually active participation was incredibly inspiring to this writer.

The workshop ended all too quickly. Because of the deep impact it can have on one's life, it prompted several of us to set up some continuing relationships for the benefits from outside perspective and encouragement. Mr. Lang himself has agreed to meet with us in the future, as that can be arranged. So we continue on with the expectation: Until we meet again!
