Celebrating Summer Sundays!
August

As starting time approached, the sun started to appear. The benches were filled, and including those that brought blankets and chairs dotting the hills around the seats, there were about 1,000 in attendance. Newspapers, coffee, breakfast, all in the comfort of a cool, breezy day, your favorite chair, and wonderful music. Is heaven any different? Are there Starbuck's in heaven? I am sure that I saw lots of Starbuck's cups. |
| With this little sweetheart in front of you (Rebecca, below), it was difficult to listen to the speaker. But I did. An old SJA'er from way back, keyboardist Dan Chouinard told us that St. Joan's was a "funky radical place" back when he attended as a child, and after years away, was happy to discover that is still a " funky radical place". |

In spite of planes flying over and a few clouds now and then, the "light" of the celebration seemed to shine through as people disbursed slowly while visiting fellow worshipers in that beautiful setting of lake, sky, trees and grass - all amid the rollerbladers, bikers, hikers, and runners. |
| Master storyteller Rachel Kroog gathered the children iin the front, and told a great tale of the rainbow. She encouraged them to believe that "there will always be a rainbow with you." |

And, to help each child remember Rachel's story, they all went home with a rainbow on their cheek to remind them! |
