Tuesday at Camp St. Joan.
Buenos Dios! What a day we had today! Spain was the country for today and
along with the Spanish songs and words we are working on, we also learned a
few things about the country. Unfortunately, our Flamenco dancer, Jen was
not able to join us. A family member in Spain was in a tragic car accident
late last week and she flew over to be with them. Please keep her family in
your prayers.
The Learning Centers were busy as usual. We were playing the national sport
of Spain (can your child tell you what that is?) as well as an all out
running experience with bullrush. Moving games into the gym today did not
seem to slow us down at all.
If your child didn't bring home their shawl, sash or bandana today from arts
& crafts then it's probably still drying. I'm sure many children were
excited to show the tree cookies that they made in the Nature center. Can
they tell you how old their tree is and what the tree is that Spain is famous
for?
The tapas in the food center where selling like hotcakes and everyone
seemed to enjoy "The Story of Ferdinand" in the story center.
Hope your children had a great day and that they are ready to do some planting tomorrow! We will be planting 12 trees around the St. Joan campus (weather permitting - rain day Thursday). A note went home today to have children wear jeans and tennis shoes (rather than sandals). And to bring an ice cream bucket and trowel if they have one. Watch for our update on Korea tomorrow!
Each child to left represented a child from a different country during the opening song which will be sung every morning.
