Cuba Day Hola! What a day we had today as we visited our friends in Cuba. In the
Gathering Place we saw a short 15 min. movie about a 14 year old boy showing
us his home in Havanna, Cuba.

| We made beautiful clay pots with sea shells
today. Don't forget to pick these up tomorrow. The Cuban black beans & rice
and tortillas were a huge hit in the food center. Most were asking for
thirds! For games we played the national sport Cuba is famous for. Can your
child tell you what it was? |

| The focus for Nature center was, "Are you my
mother?" Children learned to identify the adult and infant of many animals
and insects. We also had a lovely cuban book for story time. |
Many children have been asking about their tie dye shirts. They're so
anxious! I explained it is a slow process and the shirts must sit for at
least 2 days to set the dye, but oh, they sure are looking good! Don't
forget to pick them up when you come tomorrow for the family picnic.
Activities start at 9:00 am as usual in the church followed by a short
volunteer recognition and then great music by the always popular, Rachael
Kroog. The food will be served from 10:30 - 11:30 AM. There are lots of
opportunities to volunteer. Please check-in at the kitchen if you have some
time to help. Thanks!
