...The Trials and Tribulations(but mostly Joys!)
of Team Oz

Day 2, Tuesday
From Wabasha to Sparta(94.5 miles)

The Mississippi at Sunrise

Hi St. Joans!

My apologies for having no story Monday night for you on the progress of The AIDS Ride! I had problems getting an internet connection from Wabasha. The Communications Center for the AIDS ride had similar problems that day, also. They have graciously allowed me to use their office after 9:30pm each night, barring no emergencies. So today I will send you some photos that tell more of a story than I could possibly do with words. We arrived in Sparta, Wis. tonight to a town of cheering people! What a thrill! The photos from today and yesterday speak more of our experience than I could possibly do with words. Also, I have strict time limitations on when I have to retire, inorder to perform safely on the ride the next day. Our group has performed beautifully these past two days. Even our slowest riders finished the rides both days! I'll try to keep you posted as often as I can, it may not be every day, if circumstances won't permit! edie

Edie Kalweit has been a St. Joan of Arcer for 23 years now. Now that her children are grown, there is time to participate more fully in activities taking place at St. Joan's. She very much looks forward to the AIDS ride next week! Team "OZ" will make every attempt to keep St. Joan's informed as they approach Chicago!
