A Celebration of the Feminine Spirit

A Celebration of the Feminine Spirit produced by parishioner Maureen Skelly was a joyful and entertaining evening. The event was created to express the feminine spirit within and around us all. The evening went from 5-9 and was attended by over 125 people.

There were over twenty performers and artists involved. Singers included Sarah Thomsen, Jere Truer, Gary TenBear, Diane Jarvi, and Beth Ray. Local poets included Roy McBride, Susu Jeffrey, Molly Culligan, Rebecca Paradis, Maureen Skelly, and Hardy Coleman. Dancers at the event included two motions by Body Prayers dance troop, a belly style dance by Bonnie Berquam, and a highly energetic dance mix of free style and classical swing by Dancin Darrell Schaapveld .

In addition, Hospitality Hall hosted an art exhibit displaying photography by Ellie Kingsbury, and paintings from local artists Judith Dale, Dan Justice, Julia Rijah McGuire and Billy Welch. The visual art exhibit was coordinated by Judith Dale who also played the Temple Bells.

The event also included a performance by The McDonald Sisters and Gregg Ruud. The evening concluded with a wild and exciting all church dance where all spectators and performers burst into freestyle dance. The Celebration of the Feminine Spirit was a great experience and will probably happen annually.
