St. Joan of Arc has a 13 year relationship with a community in Guatemala, Tierra Nueva Dos. At the beginning of the relationship, the Sister Parish committee of St. Joan of Arc began a tradition of creating a decorative carpet of sawdust, an alfombra, during Holy Week. The carpet, a symbol of our hermanamiento with TNII takes on a different theme each year. Each year a group of parishioners gather on Holy Saturday to create the alfombra. It happened again this year, despite the cold weather and snow.
