Oh, the joys of a picnic!
Sunday June 10, 2007 was the date picked and a hot sunny day it turned out to be.
Discovering that Minnehaha Park and the Wabun area, our usual spot, is closed for remodeling this year, we ventured off to Veterans Memorial Park in Richfield. It was a great location, though not as homey as Wabun. It had a huge covered area for our group.
Oh, the joys of a picnic!
Around 70 adults and children arrived ready for action, which included a big play area of climbers and swings, plus games to include all. Meat was soon grilled and prepared dishes from everyone made for our lavish feast.
Oh, the joys of a picnic!
Afterward dinner came the piñatas, Sponge Bob for the small children and one for the bigger kids.
The final game arrived, definitely the highlight of the day, water balloons. A simple game was played so everyone could be included, then ……………….. a free for all!! What a wonderful way to end a picnic!
