| Patty Peterson, singer and friend of St. Joan of Arc, had emergency heart surgery five and a half
months ago, and on Saturday, July 29, 2007, she
returned to the stage, performing at the Fitzgerald
Theater in St. Paul. The doctors at Abbott
Northwestern Hospital saved her life, and the concert,
"Heart of the Matter," was a fundraiser for the
hospital, as well as the Minneapolis Heart Institute
Foundation. The concert played to a packed house.
Featuring family and friends of Patty Peterson, it
opened with a chilling 911 call, audio only, of Patty
on the side of the road explaining to an operator how
something in her chest had "popped." It evolved into a
musical celebration of her life and spirit that was truly a joyful return.
