As a service to those who miss a particular Bible Study meeting, parishioner Rik Murray writes a summary of that evening's session and emails it to all participants. Bible Study is open to all parishioners and generally meets on Tuesday evenings in Hospitality Hall from 7-9 pm. Check the parish calendar for changes in the schedule.
Prophets: Words of Fire Spring 2005
SJA's Bible Study Group, after spending the fall and winter on various books of the bible, has branched out to study Megan McKenna's book "Prophets: Words of Fire". The book is filled with stories and meditations on the prophets of old--Moses, Elijah, Amos, Jeremiah, Isaiah--called by God to call their people to justice. McKenna draws on scripture and a treasure house of stories from many traditions, including Jewish midrash, to bring their inspiring words back to us--including the last prophet, Jesus.
