St. Patrick's Day Luncheon and Service
Friday, March 16th, 2001

Friday the 16th of March couldn't have been a more beautiful day to celebrate the wearing of the green. The golden-agers and guests met at St. Joan of Arc Church for a mass said by Fr. Thomas Garvey. Joe Chouniard and Julie Madden supplied the music and a neighboring parishioner from the Hobart Methodist Church gave us his Hawaiian blessing. Of course, he wore his native costume but it did have some green.

Afterward we all gathered in the church hall for a outstanding Irish dinner of corned beef, cabbage, new potatoes, stew and key lime pie, all supplied by Cathy Meyer from her kitchen at TLC Cathy and Catering restaurant.

It was hard to top this, but it was done by the follow-up entertainment supplied by Chris Duncan of "the Girls". She admitted to being Swedish but passed easily for an Irish angel chorister.

Kate Smith is a graduate from U of Mn in the Biological Sciences. Research in Veterinary Medicine. Teacher at Community College in Biological Sciences. Currently retired and taking the time to enjoy all that I have not had time or opportunity to do before.
We missed a few of our regulars such as John Graziano, our Italian chef and the Hines sisters to name a few. With the luck of the Irish we shall all be together again next year.

Thanks Julie Madden, for making this all possible.
