...will spring ever come!?!

The 2001 SJA Annual Snow Hop Dance was a wonderful success! Tasty pizza was available for the hard working volunteers that set up. D.J. Rick LaVercombe and his dancing music for all ages kept us company as we set up and later rocked the gym!

There was enough pop for kids to get dizzy going around the pop walk waiting for their turn to win. All that persisted went home with a bottle of pop. One hot and tired out (temporarily) boy found us ready to make the next batch of Kool-Aid and ice water. He stepped in to get cooled down for the next round of dancing!

The snack table and dance floor were a hit for kids of all ages even those who were kids for a night! Volleyball kept the kids hopping. The turn out for the evening was between 250-300 people!

A big thanks to all volunteers including the previously mentioned D.J. Rick L., Bill and Lorraine Rodriguez who organized and ran the pop walk, Nancy Stockhaus who worked on planning, decorations, and set up. Many other families help with set up, clean up, check in, and snack table. My kids slept well that night. It was another great time at SJA!

Becka Watry stumbled across SJA in late 1996 4 blocks from her new home. Becka says, "I had been displeased with our church experience, stuck around awhile in hope to be part of change, and then left it for the Methodist faith vowing to return when my kids drew near the teen years. With SJA so close, we gave it a try, and found Saturday evening Mass to be everything we had hoped for! It was so family friendly. In the fall of 1998 we were ready to join the church, and I became a Sunday School Teacher. We found Sunday Mass to be even more dynamic. I continue to teach Sunday School, and help out with Camp StJoans, 1st Communion, and Family Camp. Thanks SJA!"(Becka had help on this assignment from husband Jim)
