Think Before You Throw!
Join St. Joan's Journey to Zero Waste
You've got something in your hand and your first impulse is to throw it in the nearest container. Stop!
We've added a new container to your throw away options at St Joan's. “Organics Recycling,” you can put all types of food and food-soiled paper in the “Organics Recycling” container.
Q: Tell me what I can discard in the “Organics Recycling” Container?
A: All food products including meat and bones; and all food-soiled paper such as pizza boxes, napkins and paper plates.
Please Don't Bring: Styrofoam, Plastic Cups, Plastic Plates, or Plastic Utensils with you to St Joan's. In a landfill, they will last for 1000 years before they decompose. The clear cups we use look like plastic, but are really biodegradable, made from corn. Because it's difficult to distinguish them from plastic, No Plastic, Please! If you are purchasing products for an event at SJA check the list of venders on the back of this flyer.
The Round, Red Cans that you see in Hospitality Hall, the gym and Egan Room are for “Organics Recycling”.

St. Joan's Eco-Spirits thank you for your support!
