SJA Calvary Sunday Dinner

people per Sunday). One family/individual must volunteer to be coordinator and central contact
person.

TIME : - Volunteers can arrive and begin at 1:30 pm. Center is open from approximately 2-5pm. Serving
begins at 3pm and ends at 4PM, clean up between 4 and 5PM.
GROUP RESPONSIBILITIES /IDEAS :
- PLAN MENU for approximately 75 -100 people. One week before you will receive the # of folks that were served the Sunday prior to your Sunday Meal as a guide.
- DIVIDE RESPONSIBILITIES equitably among all participants including purchasing food, cooking
food, serving, chores, etc. Leave time for socializing.
- PURCHASE FOOD according to the above division of responsibilities. It is recommended that
you purchase and use disposable plates and utensils. This greatly reduces the time of clean up
as there is not a dishwasher available in the kitchen.
- COOK main course ahead of time and heat at Calvary Church (there is a full kitchen). You may cook your meal at Calvary Church as well, depending on the time required.
- SERVE the meal.
- EAT, SHARE & VISIT with the community being served.
- CLEAN UP
SAMPLE MENUS: The meal does not have to be fancy. Anything you plan will be wonderful when we can share in community. Mainly enjoy and have fun.
- MAIN COURSE : Lasagna, Spaghetti, Chili, Roast Turkey, Roast Beef, Stews,
Ham, Sloppy Joe's, Meat Loaf, etc.
- SALADS: Mixed, Caesar
- VEGETABLE: Canned Beans, Corn, Peas, etc.
- BREAD/ROLLs + butter:
- BEVERAGES: Milk, Apple Cider, Kool Aid, etc.
(Coffee & Sugar is provided but we must bring milk)
- DESSERT: CCookies, Pie, Fresh Fruit, etc.
- CONDIMENTS: Salt, Pepper & Sugar provided
OTHER : - Bring used warm clothing if you have any to donate to the folks that come for dinner.

FINANCES:
There are two options for financing:
- Pay for the food yourselves.
- Save the receipts & turn them into Anna Vagle or the SJA bookkeeper for reimbursement.
